Note: CarPlay is only available for generation 2 devices (cs317).
Tweaks in non-dongle mode to make sure the phone cannot reconnect to the dummy handsfree of the device after initial connection.
Add retrying of connecting to phone, up to 3 times, to make sure AAWireless connects to the correct phone.
[2.1.0 - 2.2.0]
Make sure the name of the device does not change after factory reset.
Enable firmware updating while Android Auto is running, because some head units reset USB power when Android Auto gets killed, which makes the update fail.
Fix Hyundai / Kia only working in passthrough mode.
Fix UConnect (Dodge / Chrysler / Fiat) not starting up Android Auto and needing re-plug or deletion of the AAWireless "pairing" on the head unit.
Fix Dacia / Renault MediaNav needing "Direct" USB mode.
Add "GM Fix" which workarounds an issue where the head unit hangs on "Searching for phone" when starting up Android Auto. This needs the latest version of the app to be able to enable it (> 2.22.0).
Fix crashing / disconnects on some head units in intercepting (non-passthrough) mode
Fix phone calls routed through phone speaker in normal (non-dongle) mode
Fix device getting "stuck" (blue LED) when wifi connection is lost (or wifi is turned off)
Add WiFi client mode.
Add dongle mode, which removes the need for dummy Bluetooth handsfree profile. May solve issues regarding phone calls to be routed through the phone speaker and other issues.
Add paired phone management + prioritization.
Add force connection to phone.
Make possible to route the TTS audio (navigation voice) through the phone instead of head unit.
Add software factory reset from companion app.
Possibly fix SSL issues with some head units in intercepting mode.
Make factory reset fully reformat the data partition, so there's no leftover stuff, this will cause the device name to change.
[1.9.0 - 1.12.0]
Add gen 2 CS317 (rv1109) board support.
Factory reset is now single button press instead of 5 seconds hold.
Unified support for all boards into one single firmware.
Forced all boards to use WiFi-N (40Mhz) on 5Ghz to reduce interference issues.
Fixed a bug which made the device randomly not boot (no led).
Disable gateway function of DHCP server to prevent phones from trying to route internet via AAWireless.
Fix a bug which makes the device forget it's settings on every boot because of the storage filling up after a few OTA updates.
Add support for the E2W4 (batch 4) board.
Make led non-blinking white in start / stop mode, the prevent a rainbow effect when running for a long while.
Revert stopping of the bluetooth handsfree profile, because it made some phones not starting AA at all anymore (constant blinking green).
Reboot the device on stop in start / stop mode, to force the phone to disconnect from WiFi.
VAG fix improvements: in some situations VAG headunits still crashed. This still is a workaround, it's an inherent issue in Technisat headunits, we can never fix this completely.
Add "Default" USB mode which should remove the need for the different USB modes.
Stop handsfree Bluetooth profile when AA is running, to force phones to switch to the handsfree of the car, should fix phones not using the handsfree of the car for phone calls.
Remove time correction setting and replace by VAG head unit crash fix.
Improve start / stop functionality
[1.2.1 - 3]
“DRAM fix” is integrated in this OTA update. If you update to 1.2.3, you don’t need the “DRAM fix” tool anymore. However for some devices it might almost be impossible to do an OTA update because of instability, for those devices you do need to apply the DRAM fix first.
Wifi stuttering / crashes fixed for some devices.
Add auto video focus function: This function makes AA automatically show on screen for some cars, instead of manually having to press a button to start AA. It might also fix AA never showing, or not be able to start AA on the head unit.
Start / stop with car: On some cars the USB port always stays powered, which means AAWireless will constantly try to connect to the phone, even when the car is off. We implemented functionality to start up AAWireless when the phone connects to the Bluetooth Headset connection of the car and disconnects when the Bluetooth Headset connection is lost.
Change WiFi connect timeout. Some phones sometimes don’t connect to the Wifi hotspot of AAWireless when AA is started. AAWireless has a timeout of 20 seconds by default (30 seconds in 1.0.0) for restarting the whole process. This can be a bit long, so we made it configurable.
The “Mazda” fix: On some cars, AAWireless only connects the first time on pairing, and after that it is very hard to connect. There was a bug in the code which caused a delay, and this influenced the “startup” phase of Android Auto.
We updated the Android Auto protocol messages which should fix weird issues for some, for example having the wrong screen resolution when not in Passthrough mode.
Bug report functionality has been fixed. We will also improve the app side next week in order to improve feedback about what is happening.
Fix debug logging.
